The AILC offers a range of courses, including both accredited courses in Leadership and shorter courses on particular topics. For a complete list see Courses and Programs.

The Certificate courses are designed for Indigenous Australians who are active in Indigenous affairs, through participation and/or employment in Indigenous community organisations at local and regional levels, or through employment in government departments or corporations.

The Diploma course is designed for Indigenous Australians who are already engaged in leadership at the national and regional levels and who have a vision for Indigenous leadership. Only participants from previous Certificate courses will be eligible.

It is important that all participants are identified as having leadership potential, are active in Indigenous affairs at local or regional levels and are supported by their community.

There are generally no prerequisites. Applicants are selected on leadership experience and potential. Minimal formal educational levels may make completion of course requirements difficult, but support will be available for those requiring English language and literacy assistance.
