Welcome to the Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre
The Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre aims to foster new Indigenous leadership at all levels, capable of finding ways forward for all Australians. It is a not-for-profit company, owned and controlled by Indigenous Australians.

The Centre was established in 2001. As a Registered Training Organisation, it offers accredited courses in Indigenous Leadership, and non-accredited short courses in specific leadership skills.

As well as providing courses, we aim to have a strong organisation which will:

  • Increase Indigenous people’s formal knowledge, skills and capacity to take effective leadership in their own lives and in their communities
  • Foster ongoing development and connection among our graduates
  • Research, promote and communicate the elements of effective Indigenous leadership

It’s Time to Join the Big Conversation!

Have your say in Australia's first national values survey.

Many things are changing as a result of the global economic crisis and in Australia, we would like to be part of directing that change, rather than have it happen to us.  So we are undertaking a values survey that asks us about our personal values and the values we'd like Australia to have in future.  Once we have the results of the survey in April 2010, we'll be holding "big conversations" around Australia to debrief the results and talk about what that means for the country going forward. These may be separate events, or a session within an event that your organisation is hosting. If you'd like to be part of it, click on the link www.bigconversation.org.au

The Big Conversation is an initiative of Emerging Leaders for Social Change (www.elsc.com.au), a network of leaders from the not-for-profit, public and private sectors who are seeking to bring about change in Australia. The AILC is proud to support this initiative.
